Trying to sketch my Lana del Rey obsession out although it looks way more like Adele than anyone else. I really cannot get LDR out of my brain. I want to copy her style (re: steal) and I just downloaded “Without You” and “Lucky Ones” and both are extremely amazing and I have this extra desire to love her every time someone new decides to hate her. DON’T HATE. APPRECIATE.
Does anyone else ever get a weird need to “sketch it out”?
I like how Lana del Rey is highly stylized, but there are little cracks in the wall that sometimes let her personality thorugh. I love watching interviews like this, with random a cappella moments (“Million Dollar Man” is one of my favorites from her album), nervous foot twistings, and smiles. I couldn’t help but take screen caps and I must say I love her logo. She is a brand, and having a logo helps solidify it. People can argue her real/fakeness until kingdom come, but she’s definitely doing something right because she has everyone’s attention.
It isn’t that hard boy to like you or love you
I would follow you down down down,
Cause you’re unbelievable
If you’re going crazy just grab me and take me
I would follow you down down down, anywhere anywhere
Things I’m liking now: patterns, noise filters, gradient maps, quotation marks, and Lana del Rey.
“Video Games” by Lana del Rey. I feel like every time I listen to this song I get a different impression. If listened to straight through it has one meaning, but the places with emphasis and pause can change things completely. I love this song so much and I can see the style being applied to any kind of medium. I always love art that can quickly shift meaning depending on one’s perspective.
